Ascension has some new student  gardens!  These gardens and their upkeep support more STEM learning in our students. Thanks to HOME team members, teachers, staff, our amazing students and also to some donors.  We are grateful. Currently we have 4th and 5th graders involved with their dynamic teachers and STEM learning. Well done, everyone!

This short film was made by the 3rd graders as part of their initiative to train the school on correct zero waste sorting and recycling practices. Isn't it great? Be sure to practice the same sorting at home over the summer!

One of the STEM projects in 4th and 5th grade this year was designing a raised garden bed. The bed will be built on the Green Space, but it needs a name! Here are a few of the signs that the 4th and 5th graders made with names for the raised garden bed. I wonder if one of these will be chosen?

Third graders recently completed a favorite project: researching a famous person, writing a report, and presenting the biography in costume! Photos are on Mrs. Fogarty's Page and Mrs. Kane's Page. Enjoy!

In early June, so we've been told, warm weather comes – good-bye to cold! We say farewell to 8th grade friends and soon enough, the school year ends. But not until we take a peek at all that's happened this past week!

If you have been following Ascension's coin collection, you remember that the top-collecting class would get to throw a pie into Mrs. Polega's face!   PK 4 collected the most money for the Teach the Children Fund Raiser.  However, PK-4 students opted to eat pie with Mrs. Polega instead of throwing one at her. That's Love, Kindness and Respect!

Mrs. Parrilli and Mrs. Degnan presented their graduating kindergartners in a delightful performance today! The children prayed, sang, and recited a poem for the enchanted audience of parents, grandparents and guests. Bravo to Mrs. Coffman, the accompanist and to Ms. Robak, music teacher for her guidance of the young voices. Special helpers were acknowledged and everyone shared in cookies and lemonade!

It's up in the 80's at the end of the week – perfect for the last ice cream sale of the season! We'll be back in August! Today was the 8th graders' last day of school, too.
