Ascension's Student Council provides Fun Fairs for our younger students to provide a safe and exciting Halloween. Students dress in costume and play games with a Halloween spin! Ms. Makowski captured the fun.

Our students really showed their Cubs colors on October 28!  Funds raised will benefit Sarah's Inn and a domestic abuse legal assistance fund.

On October 20th, our Class of 2017 traveled to Olympia Fields, Illinois  to participate in the Ropes Course at Iron Oaks. They had great weather for a day filled with challenges meant to develop leadership and team-building.

Please be advised, there will be NO PARKING on Van Buren, between Clarence and East Avenues on Monday Oct. 24th  from 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM, due to road paving by the Village of Oak Park.

Clarence Ave. may be closed, so please allow extra time for drop off and pick up. You may have to adjust your route, because of this and other street closures.

Our School Mass at 9:30 on October 19 honors the North American Martyrs. Who are the North American Martyrs? They were all members of the Society of Jesus  (Jesuits) who died bringing the Faith  to the Huron, the Iroquois and the Mohawk People.
They are:
Saint Rene Goupil, a lay brother martyred in 1642 in New York State,
Saint John de Lalande, a lay brother, martyred in 1646 in New York State,
Saint Isaac Jogues, a priest,
Saint Anthony Daniel, a priest, martyred in Canada in 1648,
Saint John de Brebeuf,
Saint Charles Garnier,

Ascension Troop 20 Boy Scouts and their families participated in a Halloween-themed Camporee the weekend of October 14-16 in Rochelle, IL.  Jack, an 8th grade Boy Scout & Madeline, a kindergarten Daisy Scout, are shown here during a break between coffin races and a chili cook-off.  Jack and Madeline are also "buddies" at school in the Ascension Buddy Program which partners older and younger students.
