Student Council is sponsoring an ice cream sale after school on Friday for $1. The money raised will be used towards purchasing a present for Father Larry. Shhhh!
June 11 was a special day for our Principal, Mary Jo Burns! At the close of the 11:00 mass, Fr Hurlbert praised Ms. Burns for her 20 years as principal, and Ms. Burns spoke of her proud tenure and confident feelings on her retirement. A receptions followed in he Pine Room, with refreshments, students, parents, guests, hugs and surprises.
The third graders finished off their year by making a Salt Dough Relief Map of the 48 contiguous states of the U.S.A. Each student assembled their dough at home and then applied it to their map at school. We painted and labeled our own map as true cartographers. Thank you to Mrs. Sego, Mrs.vanThorre,and Mrs. Brunick for your assistance in making this all possible.
Ascension proudly congratulates the Class of 2017! Graduation follows the Graduation Mass on Monday, June 5th at 7:00 PM in the church. Graduates should gather in the Pine Room promptly at 6:30 PM.
On Wednesday, June 7, the Kindergartners will graduate at a ceremony in the Pine Room at 1:30 PM. Parents and Guests are reminded that NO HELIUM BALLOONS ARE ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING.
Parents who wish to order school supplies for their children as a complete kit may order through School Tool Box. Orders will be placed online and the supply kits will be delivered TO YOUR HOME. You will have the option of customizing your order by removing items you have or adding additional items you need. Each grade's School Tool Box kit has been approved by our teachers to contain all your child will need.
Teachers will be attending Staff Development on Friday, so there is no school on May 26.
Enjoy the long Memorial Day Holiday weekend, and remember those who served our country and those who gave their last full measure of devotion. Thank a Veteran.
On May 24, the school gathered for the final Prayer Service with grades 1 - 8, followed by "Just Desserts" in the Pine Room, honoring our wonderful volunteers. 8th graders received blue and white ribbons, a symbol of their status as graduating students. Altar servers were also given a small token of appreciation for their service. Our top honor students are Valedictorian Paulina Harnisch and Salutatorian Jack Williams. Congratulations!
