The 7th grade leads a Living Rosary in church on Tuesday at 2:15 PM. Here is a description of this colorful rosary: "Each decade of that World Mission Rosary calls to mind an area where the Church continues her evangelizing mission: green for Africa; blue for the ocean surrounding the islands of the Pacific; white symbolizing Europe, red for the Americas, and yellow for Asia. The 8th graders at Ascension took a field trip to the Art Institute of Chicago on October 11, 2018. The purpose of the trip was to demonstrate to the students the differences between Impressionism and other forms of art. 8th graders will then choose a painting and reproduce it, using techniques they learn in art. See more on Ms. Grimm's Page.

Both 3rd grades prepared the liturgy for the Feast of St. Francis. The liturgy began with the story of the Saint's life and the class recitation of the Prayer of St. Francis. Fr. Bob Hutmacher was our celebrant. The entrance procession included four third graders carrying items representing care for the earth.. See all the pictures on both Mrs. Fogarty's and Ms. Kane's Teacher Pages.

The Buddy program at Ascension is one of our favorite traditions! Each Grade is matched with another, oldest to younger, and they become friends through doing activities and spending time with each other. The 8th grade is paired with 1st grade (and so forth) and the 4th graders get to spend time with our preschoolers! Thanks to Mrs. Kirchen and Ms. Sefton for sharing. Take a look!
