How wonderful to see the student body together for the first time! Fr. Hurlbert's homily stressed the virtues in our motto: Love, Kindness, and Respect, as well as learning to use what we have to do better. Click to see pictures!
Please join our students and faculty for the opening Prayer Service of the school year! In prayer and song we'll join our hearts and voices to ask for blessings on our school, to welcome new students and to meet our Student Council officers for the 2017-2018 year. The Service is in church at 9:30 AM. All are welcome!
On May 24, the school gathered for the final Prayer Service with grades 1 - 8, followed by "Just Desserts" in the Pine Room, honoring our wonderful volunteers. 8th graders received blue and white ribbons, a symbol of their status as graduating students. Altar servers were also given a small token of appreciation for their service. Our top honor students are Valedictorian Paulina Harnisch and Salutatorian Jack Williams. Congratulations!

On Tuesday, May 16th the school gathered at 8:15 mass to crown the Blessed Virgin Mary. Student Council members participated in the procession and crowning as the 2nd graders lined the aisle with flowers. We also prayed three Hail, Marys for the newly canonized Saints of Fatima, Francisco and Jacinta.
The Ascension School Community will join the 8:15 AM Mass community on Tuesday, May 16. Following Mass, Student Council and Grade 2 students will lead a crowning of Mary, acknowledging Mary our Mother and model of faith. All are welcome.
Ascension congratulates our 2nd grade students who are receiving First Eucharist the weekends of May 6-7 and May 13-14. Each child has made a personal banner to make this blessed occasion. Please stop at the front bulletin board of the school to see how each child has designed his or her special memento of the day.
Friday, May 5 was a wonderful day for Ascension, our annual Grandparents' Day! Our favorite guests arrived in the morning to visit classrooms, peruse Ms. Makowski's Art Show in the Pine Room, attend a warm reception in the gym and even have pictures taken. The school community attended mass at 19:30 and then many students went out to lunch with their grandparents or specials guests. Our thanks to the Development office and the School office for coordinating this marvelous event!
