Join us on Sunday, January 29 from 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM. Classroom will be open and administration, staff and teachers will be able to answer your questions. Plan on stopping over after Ascension's 9:00 AM or 11:00 AM mass. Information packets for prospective parents will be available, too!
All are welcome to the final Prayer Service of 2016, the Christmas Prayer Service presented by the 4th graders. The Service is at 10:00 AM in the church. The story of Jesus' ancestors is a wonderful way to prepare for Christmas!
Students are dismissed for Christmas Break at 11:40 AM.
Ascension Troop 20 Boy Scouts and their families participated in a Halloween-themed Camporee the weekend of October 14-16 in Rochelle, IL. Jack, an 8th grade Boy Scout & Madeline, a kindergarten Daisy Scout, are shown here during a break between coffin races and a chili cook-off. Jack and Madeline are also "buddies" at school in the Ascension Buddy Program which partners older and younger students.
We are now accepting registration for students in grades 5 to 8 for Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball seasons.
Do you know about Anansi the Spider? He is a trickster, a characters in African folk tales. Both third grades learned the story of "Anansi and the Moss -Covered Rock" in Music class, and learned to play Anansi's Walking Music. After practicing , the short play with music was presented to our invited guests, the kindergartners. Both presentations were well received! Congratulation! Everyone is welcome to join our Chargers and Charger fans at Boys' Pack the Place on Friday, March 11. Our 5th, 6th and 7th grade basketball teams will face St. Mary's at 5:00. 6:00 and 7:00 respectively. The 8th grade Chargers will play St. Angela's at 8:00.
Children should be accompanied by a parent or designated adult. For safety, any student should plan to stay in the gym for the evening, rather than coming and going outside. Let’s be proud of the gym space by recycling and disposing of garbage, too.
