Second graders, recent First Communicants, were guests with family at a First Communion breakfast, after which the children lined up to form a procession. The May Crowning mass, for grades 2 through 8, was led by Student Council members, one of whom crowned a statue of Mary. After mass Fr. Hurlbert gathered the children in the labyrinth for picture-taking near the Marian statue.

Sixth graders prepared the Lenten Mass today, attended by grades 1 through 8.  Fr. Hurlbert's homily compared Jesus' "I AM" to the same name of God from the story of Moses, Jesus' death was not the end and like Him we must prepare to rise again.

Fr. Hurlbert, Faculty and students celebrated mass a week late due to the freezing cold last Wednesday. The introduction to mass and the readings and petitions were read with clarity and fluency by students from Grade 3. Ms. Rodde gave an inspired homily on last week Tuesday's theme of Heroes and Superheroes, relating them to Jesus and His powers.

Today was our final all-school mass of the year. Our first graders participated as readers, lectors, and petition readers. The story of St. Juan Diego's vision of Mary was presented by three 7th graders, from the vision to the visits to the local Bishop, concluding with the shower of roses from his cloak, now miraculously picturing the Virgin of Guadalupe. After communion, the first graders sang La Guadalupana in Spanish; trey had been prepared by Ms. Bowdy, Mrs. Blatner and Ms. Sefton.

We will be collecting hats, gloves/mittens, and scarves for Housing Forward. Please send in gently used hats, gloves/mittens, and scarves to donate.
