The Buddy program at Ascension is one of our favorite traditions! Each Grade is matched with another, oldest to younger, and they become friends through doing activities and spending time with each other. The 8th grade is paired with 1st grade (and so forth) and the 4th graders get to spend time with our preschoolers! Thanks to Mrs. Kirchen and Ms. Sefton for sharing. Take a look!

Room 108 third graders and their Buddies in Room 210 got together to make bouquets and cards for Mrs. Jackie Smith. Known to all students as Ms. Jackie, she is our wonderful Lunch Lady. Ms. Jackie greets everyone with a smile  and makes sure hot lunches are ready on time. No one goes hungry in her lunchroom! Ms. Jackie was thrilled!

Please save the date for Ascension's biggest event of the year - the Blue Tie Auction! This year we will be celebrating a wonderful couple who have devoted decades to our school community, Jill & Chip ('77) Pollard.

The Blue Tie is a wonderful opportunity to show your support of our school while enjoying fabulous food, bidding on amazing items and dancing the night away with friends new and old!

The Class of 2019 sure knows how to help us beat the heat! Today ended with a rush to select treats; the profits help with 8th grade trips and activities.

The Teachers and staff have been back to school for a whole week (and some, for more than that!) Here's another look at the special breakfast on Monday, with words of welcome from Mrs. Polega and a blessing from Fr. Hurlbert. It looks delicious!

Ascension boosters  Grade 2 and up formed a festive contingent of Oak Park's 4th of July parade this year! Student participants received a bright red Ascension Chargers tee and the chance to toss treats to the crowd along the way. The weather was hot and sunny, but they braved the elements and even got a cool shower along the way. Thanks to the Development Office for organizing our group and to all the students, alumni, and parents who marched!

After the excitement of last night's graduation and after-party, what could be more fun than a trip to Great America? Here is the Class of 2018 in a much more casual mood! Have a great summer!

Yesterday the Ascension Class of 2014 spent the afternoon with us! It was a joyous get together, greeting each other and the new principal, Mrs. Polega. The students spent time with the soon-to-graduate Class of 2018 and offered some friendly advice in the Q&A session. They paraded through the school as current students clapped and cheered! We are so very proud of all of your accomplishments, and wish you all the best as you embark upon your next adventure! Enjoy comparing yourselves to your 2014 graduation picture!

The Class of 2014 walks the halls to cheers!
