5th Graders have been working on some exciting things in Science for these first few weeks of school! To get familiar with the processes that scientists use to investigate different questions and problems, we tried some investigations of our own! First we looked at different methods to keep bread freshest for the longest period of time. More on Ms. Kerr's Teacher Page.

On Friday, September 22, teachers, instructional aides, office staff and Extended Day Program staff attended a very important training session. CPR/AED training is a classroom,video-based, instruction-led course that teaches adult and child CPR and AED (automated external defibrillator) use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult and child.

On Saturday, September 23,  Ascension's 4th grade soccer team played the Forest Park 2 and won 6-0! Way to go, 4th Grade!

Students in grades K to 8 attended a presentation by The Imagination Theater today. At 1PM, Kindergarten to grade 5 students saw a production featuring scripted scenes, improvisation, games and audience participation to help them learn strategies to handle challenging and unexpected situations. Students in grades 6 to 8 will attend a 2PM production. The goal of Imagination Theater is to enhance well-being and create a more civil, safe society for our children.
