After working in the business world selling systems for AT&T and Digital Equipment Corporation, I decided to become a stay-at-home mom. It was only after my own children started preschool that I decided what I wanted to be “when I grew up”. I received my Masters in Education from Dominican University in 2002.
Seeing how my children were very different learners, I was drawn to teaching and better understanding the many learning styles of children. In third grade, it is my hope to create a safe and caring community where students can uncover their many gift from God and become active, self-aware and self-confident learners.
My curriculum for math, science, social studies and religion include hands-on, child-centered activities that will engage and challenge third graders. Included in the third grade curriculum are project-based learning opportunities. Students create their own salt dough landform map, build a Native American lodging model, research/design a planet poster, and participate in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Program.
We know what we are, but know not what we may be.-William Shakespeare
It is my privilege to be working at Ascension School and co-teaching third grade with Colleen Bracco. Together we bring two different backgrounds to create a unique third grade experience.
